This is a statue in the courtyard between my school’s two buildings. It’s of Isa Boletini, who is the namesake for the school. Between this and Topanice’s Rexhep Mala Shkolla, I am definitely sensing a trend. I’m not going to comment on Boletini’s life and what exactly he’s famous for except to say that he is definitely an Albanian historical figure famous for his part in Kosovo’s complicated socio-political history during the 19th and 20th centureis. Alsoo, he’s not from Rahovec, which makes it interesting that this town should choose to not only name their school after him but erect a statue of him in front of the school.
