The Albanian and Kosovar flags, hanging from the second floor railing in the main atrium of my school’s new building. From the conversations I’ve had with my host country friends, I have garnered that the feeling many have towards their country’s flag is very mixed. While traveling around Kosovo it is far more likely you’ll see Albania’s black eagle on a red banner than Kosov’s EU-esque gold country outline on a blue banner with six white stars (to represent the ethnic groups present in Kosovo).

In the middle of the two flags; more tributes to the school’s namesake, Isa Boletini.
